The sensor in the calibration device can vary
1) colorimeter
measures 3 values RGB
reproduces what our eyes detect
Some spider devices can use more up to 7 sensors..more accurate information
subject to metamorism
2) spectro-photometre
measures light intensity a whole lot of points along the spectrum red 700 ----> blue 400nm built up a complete curve
can counter the effects of metamorism
